Beginners workshop

WHO IS IT FOR?

Our Beginners Workshops cater for up to 10 skaters per session, aged 4–17 years.

WHERE & HOW LONG?

Each workshop runs for 1.5 hours at our private indoor skatepark, The Clubhouse, located in Mordialloc.

WHAT WILL SKATERS LEARN?

Our workshops are designed to help skaters build the confidence and skills to ride safely and comfortably in a skatepark, carpark or even down the footpath to a friend's house!

Starting with the fundamentals, skaters will learn:

  • Balance and correct stance

  • Pushing and turning

  • How to fall safely

  • Using small ramps

  • Rolling up and down ramps

  • Tic Tacs

  • Frontside and Backside Axel Turns

  • Dropping in independently

As skaters build their confidence and skills, they can progress into more advanced tricks and features, including dropping into larger ramps and learning to grind.

PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS

A little practice between sessions can make a huge difference! Practising the skills learned during the workshop will help skaters build confidence and progress even faster.

MORE THAN JUST SKATEBOARDING

Skateboarding is all about challenging yourself and stepping outside your comfort zone. As skaters overcome fears and achieve new goals, they build confidence, resilience and self-esteem that can carry into everyday life.

EQUIPMENT PROVIDED

Skateboards, helmets and pads are all included!

We do recommend bringing your own helmet where possible for the best fit.
